1.Cawdor Revisited

This is the first of a set of contemporary paintings about Scottish History and stories- based on Cawdor Castle- it shows layers of history and change- every brush stroke having a reason. It is 22" square.

2.Highland Stronghold

This is based on Eilean Donan Castle, the stronghold of Clan Macrae, and is about the struggles in the past faced by people in times of strife, and struggles faced by their descendents.

3.The Romance of the Past

A Painting about the return of the descendents of the Highlanders who were forced to leave their homeland during the clearances , The A romantic view sees the Highlands in this light- the painting is based on Eilean Donan Castle- one of the most romanticised places in the Highlands. This is a 30"x22" mixed media painting- extremely striking.

4.The Headlands

This is a contemporary painting about the Highland clearances, showing how the people were pushed out onto poor land on the West coast or forced to emigrate. It also represents the power of Church and State to carry out this and of the powerlessness of the people to resist. It is an extremely striking very original piece.This painting is 22"x30" unframed and unmounted.

5.Moonscape -Great Glen

A striking contemporary piece about seeing the world in a different light.It is 30'x22'. Based on the Great Glen- which runs from Inverness to Fort William.

Abstract Organics

This recently painted large canvas is built up in layers of acrylic inks painted wet-in-wet on canvas- based on a walk in Torridon- autumn trees and vegetation and atmosphere.It is 90cm square.
